Lottusse pays tribute to the legacy of Cristóbal Balenciaga. We are proud to announce our participation in the acclaimed exhibition 'Cristóbal Balenciaga | Shoes from Spain Tribute,' taking place at the historic Palazzo Morando in Milan, a space where Balenciaga's legacy and the excellence of Spanish footwear come together in a unique tribute.
In honor of the visionary Cristóbal Balenciaga, Lottusse presents a design that reflects the timeless silhouette and elegance that defined the master, embodying the perfect fusion of Spanish craftsmanship and haute couture. We have named our creation MARQUESA, in tribute to the influential figure of Princess Fabiola of Belgium's grandmother, who played a key role in the designer's artistic patronage. This proposal combines harmonious lines and a coordinated color palette, achieving a tone-on-tone effect from head to toe.
Lottusse has been inspired by the 'Infanta' dress, in ivory and red with a shirt collar, made of Gros de Tours and satin, a piece dating back to 1939 and housed in the Museum of Costume in Madrid. From our perspective, this design pays tribute to the rich Spanish cultural influence, incorporating touches of drama through bold color stains on a cut inspired by Las Meninas, evoking the artistic influence of Velázquez
